Training for skill development, employment and entrepreneurship with forward linkages towards rehabilitation and integration
The Covid-19 pandemic has led to a real danger of employment crisis therefore reconstructing or recovery which has always been the aim of the Maha PECOnet initiatives out of which ‘Skill Development Training’ has been implemented in order to stop this social crisis, bring back individuals by empowering them through education and skill development and help them seek employment opportunities.
Maharashtra Labour Welfare Board (MLWB) in a joint effort with UNICEF Maharashtra and social organizations like Yuwaah and RISE Infinity Foundation has collaborated to impart Skill Development training programs for 40,000 youths across the State of Maharashtra. The objective behind training the youths through the skill development programs is to build their self-confidence, develop the ability within them to be able to make decisions for self and
guide them for employment, career growth, and entrepreneurial opportunities.
Vulnerable groups of the society like women, persons with various disabilities, youngsters looking for employment, migrant laborers, daily wage workers were brought into focus or can be said were the direct beneficiaries of the skill development training program. The modules of these selected courses are being delivered through the online platform by also ensuring that these beneficiaries have accessibility to the same. Online mode of training has been taking place to ensure that we follow the safety protocol and avoid mass gatherings due to the ongoing pandemic.
The training partners across the State of Maharashtra who are supporting the youths for skill development are Kotak Education Foundation, Sage Foundation, Tata Capital, Tata Strive, Tech Mahindra, Youth4Jobs, Father Agnel Technical Education, and Idobro Impact Solutions.
The courses or training that are offered by these partners to the young population from the State starting from the age group of 18-30 years focus on Customer Relation & Sales, Hospitality, Banking and Financial Services, General Duty Assistant, Hospital Hygiene Assistant, Advance Covid training modules, Life Skills, Basic English, Soft Skills, Money Management, Computer Literacy, Retail, Bpo, Manufacturing, Ecommerce, Hospitality, IT Courses, Fashion Design and Tailoring, Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Mechanic, Marketing and Communication Skills, Job Preparedness, Digital Skills, Business Development Executive, Automobile Sales Consultant, Retail Sales Associate, Assistant Electrician, Assistant Beauty Therapist and Cyber Security.
